A Technical Introduction to Hydrogen and Hydrogen Systems Course
Hydrogen course modules for automotive, construction, gas fitting, energy, engineering maritime, transport sectors & those thinking of careers in hydrogen.
DESCRIPTION FOR THE WHOLE COURSE
This is an online course that can be taken at the learner’s own pace.
ESTIMATED TIME TO COMPLETE ALL 7 MODULES – 18.5 HOURS
The hydrogen course modules are suited to workers in the automotive, construction, gas fitting energy, engineering maritime, and transport sectors and those thinking of a career working with hydrogen.
Regulators, policy makers, project managers and any students with an interest in hydrogen safety, science and technology will also find the hydrogen course material useful and easy to understand.
The modules provide learners with a basic but valuable technical introduction to hydrogen and hydrogen systems, including production methods, basic chemistry, water electrolysis, hydrogen storage, distribution, hydrogen and material compatibility, combustion, hydrogen refuelling stations, liquefaction process, fuel cells, hydrogen batteries, standards and regulations and basic hydrogen safety.
Learners will also gain an understanding of the Reverse Joule Thomson Effect associated with hydrogen expansion as well as the conversion of Ortho hydrogen to Para hydrogen during the liquefaction process.
Glossary containing Definitions of common terms used in the hydrogen industry will be provided to those who take any of the hydrogen training modules.
